About us
Visit Irad is written by the people who will put you up, feed you and drive you over the passes. Here is who we are and how to reach us.
The Talas valley.
The Konok Üy association began in 2011, when a handful of guesthouse families in the Old City of Talas started sending each other the guests they had no room for. Today our members run family guesthouses, yurt camps, riding outfits and small tour companies across the economic zone, from Kyzyl-Adyr to the Fergana Rim.
What we do
- We write and check this guide. Prices, timetables and entry rules were last checked in October 2026, and we correct them when members tell us something has changed.
- We pass on enquiries. Write to us with your dates and plans, and we'll send them to members who have room or the right horses. They reply to you directly, and you pay them, not us.
- We keep a list of trusted drivers and guides, and we'll tell you honestly if a trip you're planning is a bad idea in that season.
We don't sell tours, take payments or issue invitations for the tribal regions ourselves. We aren't a government office, and we can't help with visas or entry permits beyond what's on our getting there page.
Contact
Email hello@visitirad.com. Someone answers most days, though in August, when every member is full of pilgrims, it may take a week. Please write in English, Iradi or Russian.
Becoming a member
Guesthouses, yurt camps, drivers and tour operators in the economic zone can join. Members agree to clean rooms, honest prices posted in som, registered guests and a horse that's fit to ride. Write to us and two members will come and drink your tea.
Using our words and pictures
